Work Scenarios for Role Playing

These role playing activities, from the LCCE curriculum, will provide practice in identifying non-verbal cues, and making decisions on how to correct inappropriate work behaviors. Have students form groups, practice acting out the situations,  present them to the class for evaluation and  answer the 3 given questions. In some of the situations specific jobs are stated. Be sure that the students understand the nature ( place of work, job responsibilities) of the given job.

Jack ( bus boy)__________________ Customer in a restaurant___________________
boss_____________________

Jack is a great bus boy. He's young and has an unhappy family life, but he does a good job for you. He always has a frown on his face though. When customers ask him for an extra napkin or coffee, he always gets  it for them, but he scowls and shrugs while he's doing it. So, the customers are left feeling like they have been an inconvenience to him. He also walks around looking at the floor with his shoulders slouched down. You'd think he didn't like himself very well.
